I've often hear about Keynesian economics but had a pretty sketchy understanding of all it entailed

I've often hear about Keynesian economics but had a pretty sketchy understanding of all it entailed. This book brought the pieces together and broadened my understanding of the man (John Maynard Keynes), as well as provided me a moderate level understanding of his economic theories and the policies he helped create/inspire. I have a modest/moderate understanding generally of economics, but found the authors work quite readable. The author points out that while Keynes applied his theories to help shape depression/post depression era policies, his theories are applicable today.

Concise and powerfully written
By paul
Reading this short introduction of Keynes resulted in three outcomes: 1) I felt as though I came away with a better understanding of Keynes work. 2) I have a strong desire to read more by and about Keynes. And lastly, 3) I have become a huge fan of Skidesky.

one of the best intros to Keynes
By Alan G. Nasser Sr.
Skidelsky is as clear and concise. It is worth mentioning that since the book was written Skidelsky has moved notably to the Left in his policy recommendations in the light of the Great Recession. He is much more sympathetic to the “radical” Keynes.
