Fantastic Romance Adventure!

This is Jennifer Moore's first book? Fantastic! The here and heroine characters are three dimensional and the development of the romance between them flows in a very naturally. William and Amelia are antagonistic toward each other in the beginning due to a legal battle between the Captain and Amelia's father and the fact that William has torn Amelia from her home to come to London to deal with the case. Throughout the voyage, the two gradually begin to respect each other based on their admirable actions rather than purely on outer appearance or stereotypes. The fact that the romance develops slowly makes it more realistic, but it doesn't by any means make it less exciting. There is a great sea voyage and a little mystery that make the story riveting.
One problem with the story, however, was that the legal battle was rather anticlimactic. I wish the author had put as much research and energy into that as she had the battle on the sea. I also thought the villains could have been a bit more well developed and that the mystery aspect could have had a few more twists and turns. Otherwise, a great romance adventure beyond what many are able to write on their 200th attempt, let alone their first! I really look forward to reading more from Jennifer Moore!

Well researched and enjoyable

The author did her homework and appears to have thoroughly researched most of the content. There were a few niggling details that she may have missed, but nothing worth noting. I felt that she should have further fleshed out a few plot points, but over all this was a very enjoyable read. I look forward to eventually reading more of her books, but I do find it hard to swallow their price point in E-books. I find myself pretty unwilling to buy e-books that cost almost as much a paper copy.

congratulations to all new writers, however this lady has a ways to go

This was a good effort but it didn't encourage me to read more. Sorry. The author obviously did some homework. Perhaps, however, she was too eager to use it. There was more life in her acknowledgements than in the story itself. The daily activities of shipboard life were somehow flat in her writing, too descriptive in straightforward sentences rather than involving. I didn't feel the romance, the villain's full crimes were only hinted at and a bit rushed, and it seemed to me that the final scenes ran out of steam. What I loved was the cover of the book, but that lead me to expect more.
